British boxer Anthony Joshua Discharged from Medical Facility in Lagos Following Deadly Car Crash

The British boxer Anthony Joshua has been discharged from hospital, officials in Lagos announced on late Wednesday. The 36-year-old was caught in a vehicular crash in the Lagos area on December 29th, a horrific crash that resulted in the deaths of two of his close associates.

Under Observation for Minor Injuries

Joshua had been under observation while recuperating from non-critical injuries, his management team stated earlier on Monday. A government official, Gbenga Omotoso, confirmed in an update on X that Joshua was judged healthy enough to “recuperate at home”.

“Joshua and his mother were at the mortuary in Lagos this afternoon to pay their final respects to his two departed friends as they were being prepared for repatriation,” the official remarked.

Honoring the Deceased

The two men who died were confirmed to be Latif Ayodele, a personal trainer, and Sina Ghami, a performance coach. The official further stated that the champion was filled with sorrow and overcome with emotion over the loss of his two close friends.”

The news of his discharge follows the sports world had expressed condolences for the fighter in the aftermath of the terrible crash.
