Democrats Condemn Trump After He States They Should Face Execution

Lawmakers from the Democratic party demonstrated outrage after the ex-president charged a coalition of Democratic congress members of being "turncoats" and declared they should be taken into custody and sentenced "by death" following their release of a controversial video.

The Recording That Sparked the Debate

The video footage, published on earlier this week, features six Democratic elected officials who formerly acted in defense or defense roles.

"Similar to us, you all swore an pledge to safeguard and support this founding document," the representatives declared in the 90-second video. "At present, the threats to our democratic foundation don't only come from overseas, but from domestically. Our regulations are clear, you can reject unlawful commands, you can refuse illegal orders, you should refuse illegal orders. No one has to execute orders that violate the legal system or our founding principles."

Trump's Incensed Response

The clip reportedly prompt a furious response from the previous commander-in-chief.

On later in the week, Trump published on Truth Social: "This represents SEDITIOUS BEHAVIOR AT THE HIGHEST LEVEL. Each one of these betrayers to our Country should be ARRESTED AND PUT ON TRIAL."

In an additional message, he stated: "This is really bad, and Harmful to our Country. Their statements cannot be permitted to persist. SEDITIOUS BEHAVIOR FROM TRAITORS!!! LOCK THEM UP???"

In a third post, he stated: "SEDITIOUS BEHAVIOR, subject to punishment by DEATH!" He also redistributed a declaration that stated: "HANG THEM GEORGE WASHINGTON WOULD !!"

Opposition Officials Answer

Following Trump's remarks on Thursday, Democratic leadership issued a joint declaration censuring the statements.

"Partisan aggression has no position in the United States," they declared. "Congress members who appeared in the video all acted our United States with exceptional national pride and excellence. We clearly denounce Donald Trump's appalling and harmful death threats against congressional representatives, and appeal to Republican lawmakers to strongly do the same."

The party representatives also stated that they had been in communication with law enforcement "to ensure the protection of these members and their families."

"Donald Trump must without delay take down these radical online messages and recant his violent rhetoric before he leads to violence," the declaration continued.

Representatives' Firm Reaction

The representatives who participated in the video also issued a declaration.

"We identify as former service members and security experts who love this country and took an vow to protect and uphold the founding document of the United States," they said. "That oath lasts a lifetime, and we aim to honor it. No threat, intimidation, or promotion of aggression will prevent us from that fundamental obligation."

"The most revealing aspect is that the former president considers it subject to penalty by capital punishment for us to reiterate the law," they stated. "Our service members should know that we have their support as they execute their oath to the constitution and obligation to follow only proper directives. It is not only the proper thing to do, but also our obligation."

They stated: "Every American must come together and censure the president's demands for our death and political violence. This is a moment for principled stance."

Further Governmental Responses

The Democratic Senate minority leader also censured Trump's statements and posted on online networks: "We must be absolutely clear: the President of the United States is calling for the execution of government members."

He stated: "This is an clear THREAT. All senators, every Representative, every American – without partisan consideration – should censure this right away and absolutely."

The GOP leader justified Trump's assertion that the Democrats had participated in "sedition", characterizing the video as "highly unsuitable", stating: "This represents very risky, you have prominent officials of the legislature advising military personnel to defy commands, I think that's historic in the nation's past."

The GOP official also according to sources told the press that in what he read of Trump's posts, Trump was "explaining the offense of treason" but that "legal experts have to parse the terminology and establish all that."

Executive Branch Statement

During a White House press conference on Thursday afternoon, when asked by a media member, "Is the president want to kill elected officials?", the administration spokesperson replied: "Absolutely not."

"We should understand about what the former president is reacting to," the spokesperson stated. "We see sitting members of the American legislature who conspired to arrange a video message to personnel of the American armed forces, to current military personnel urging them to disobey the executive's proper directives."

She said: "The purity of our military depends on the chain of command, and if that chain of command is broken, it can cause people getting killed, it can cause chaos, and that is exactly what these members of Congress ... are essentially supporting."
