FC Barcelona to Host First Match at Upgraded Camp Nou on Saturday

Barcelona have announced they will play at the renovated but unfinished Camp Nou this Saturday. Athletic Bilbao will visit the Bilbao team in the Spanish league 30 months after they moved out so building work could begin.

“We envisioned this comeback. The moment has arrived. Home again at Spotify Camp Nou.”

Not all seats will be available but 45,401 spectators will be allowed to watch as per the current authorization. When completed, it will accommodate almost 105,000 spectators, up from the previous 99,000. Officials confirmed recent additions comprise a new players’ tunnel plus modern locker rooms.

Recent Activities

Barça organized a public practice inside the stadium earlier this month. Officials stated they were hoping for permission from European football’s governing body to play their next home Champions League game facing Eintracht on 9 December at the stadium. Previous fixtures took place at the Olympic Stadium.
