Mohamed Salah Extends Statement to Teammates, Reveals Curtis Jones

The Liverpool midfielder has shared that Salah apologised to the entire Liverpool squad after the uproar from his recent interview.

The Fallout

He was omitted from a vital match after criticising the club and stating his rapport with Arne Slot had soured.

“Mo is his own man and he can say his own stuff,” Jones revealed. “He apologised to us and was like: ‘Should anyone feel slighted, please accept my apology.’”

The manager has previously declined to comment publicly on whether he got an explanation from the 33-year-old forward.

Moving Forward

He emphasized that the squad's reaction stayed normal. “Nothing about him changed, he had a big smile on his face and we all treated him normally,” he continued.

The midfielder also suggested that a player's desire to start is less of an issue. “It's clear there are certain ways you can handle situations,” he said. “But if a lad’s fine to just be on the bench, then I think that’s a bigger problem.”

On-Field Response

Their results have stayed unbeaten in the games following the initial controversy. The player is convinced the forward's comments were not designed to cause disruption.

“When there’s been any sort of anger, it’s always been from a good place,” Jones concluded. “That chapter is closed and we’re uniting strongly, performing and starting to win games.”
