NFL Roundup: Denver Edge Hapless Jets in Low-Scoring Battle

In a defensive struggle this weekend, the Denver Broncos clinched a 13-11 victory over the struggling New York Jets. Quarterback Bo Nix threw an early scoring strike and kicker Wil Lutz provided the late decisive three-pointer to seal the hard-fought win.

Dominant Display Wins Contest

Despite registering nine sacks against Jets QB Justin Fields, the Broncos were behind 11-10 following giving up a safety in the third quarter. Remarkably, the Jets could only produce just 82 total net yards throughout the entire game.

Nix, who completed 19 of 30 attempts for 174 yards, engineered a decisive 12-play, 65-yard drive that culminated in Lutz's short kick with approximately five minutes left.

Record Struggles for Jets Attack

Despite their dismal performance, the Jets maintained possession with a opportunity to score a possible victory. But Fields was sacked on fourth down from the Denver 44 when coach Aaron Glenn chose to go for it rather than sending out kicker Nick Folk for a difficult kick.

The Jets quarterback had difficulties throughout, completing just 9 of 17 passes for 45 yards. The Jets ended up with minus-10 net yards passing, the fewest in any contest since 1998.

"Our passing game was completely absent," Glenn commented following the contest.
